Dedicated to the social, economic, spiritual development and welfare of rural people.
Sri Aurobindo Institute of Rural Development (SAIRD) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of rural people. Founded in 1973 by Agricultural Scientist Dr. Ganta Gopal Reddy, SAIRD focuses on providing training and field demonstrations to help rural people develop new skills and improve their lives.
The organization believes that rural people have untapped potential, and by providing them with the right tools and skills, they can improve their lives and the lives of their communities. SAIRD has trained thousands of agricultural technicians in specialized fields, and in 1983, the organization submitted a proposal to the Indian government to establish a Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) to help bring about a technological revolution in agriculture.
In recognition of its work, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) granted SAIRD’s request and established a KVK in Nalgonda district in 1985.
To recognize and support the inherent talents and instincts of rural people, providing them with the skills and scientific tools they need to upgrade their potential and achieve their goals.
