Activity : KVK Scientists have conducted World soil day celebrations at KVK campus and in this programme Suryapet DAO, Sri B. Ramarao Naik has participated as chief guest and explained about the importance of soil testing, fertility, RDF and soil test based nutrient management. Also explained about degradation of soil due to heavy application of chemical fertilizers and it’s management practices. In this programme KVK Senior Scientist & Head I/c, D. Naresh explained about soil sampling procedure, application of FYM, importance of maintaining organic carbon in soil and effects caused due to stubble burning in paddy fields. Later took a pledge on protecting soil health. Finally Soil health cards were distributed to farmers.
