Training Programme on Natural Farming under the project "Out Scaling of Natural Farming 2023-24"

SAKVK, Gaddipally: As a part of Training programme on Natural Farming, D.Naresh senior scientist and head (I/C) explained about activities uptaken by KVK under Natural Farming and importance of IFS its benefits, harmful effects on excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture which is polluting the soil, atmosphere, food and increasing the investment cost for farmers. A.Kiran SMS-Soil Science explained in detail about the concept ,steps involved in natural farming.The components of natural farming i.e minimum tillage , cover crops , Mulching ,mixed cropping, inter crops, traditional local cultivar seeds were discussed. Ch.Naresh SMS-Horticulture said that farmers can achieve higher yields by following integrated farming practices instead of growing only one type of crop. Under the organic system of Horticulture crops, D. Adarsh SMS-Plant Protection said that currently excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture is polluting the soil, air, food and increasing investment costs for farmers. He advised all the farmers should adopt natural farming and to get quality yields at low cost. V. Sravanti Tungathurthi mandal Horticulture officer explained about horticulture department subsidy and practices in mango plantations crops Mangement and oil palm subsidy. Ch.Sai Srijana  Srijana Agricultural Extension Officer was briefed on the paddy management practices. Later practical shown prepartion of organic inputs like jeevamrtham, wastedecompser and kashalau and dravanlau.

No. of Participants: A total of 46 farmers were participted in the programme
