Activity details: Day -1 (17.05.2024)

1. A.Kiran (SMS-Soil Science) created Awareness and conducted Demo on soil sampling at Garakunta Thanda of Garidepally Mandal of Suryapet District on 17.05.2024 and later explained about the importance of soil testing, how to collect soil samples from farmers’ fields, the effect of soil pH on crop growth, and the role of organic carbon on crop growth.
2. As part of this program, he distributed soil sampling covers to collect soil samples from farmers’ fields at adopted villages to test soil health conditions and to suggest future crops for kharif season.
3. Later visited various fields in the village along with farmers for collection of soil samples.

Activity details: Day -2 (18.05.2024)

Conducted Training cum Awareness programme on “Importance of Soil Sampling and Soil Testing” at Macharam Village, Penpahad Mandal, Suryapeta Dist, on 18-05-2024. A.Kiran, SMS (Soil Science) explained about the Importance of organic manures in improving soil organic matter content, how to collect soil samples and the importance of STCR based fertilizer application in paddy and chilli fields. Advised farmers to go for soil testing before cropping every year and  also stressed on Soil health cards and its importance. D.Adarsh SMS

 (Plant Protection) explained about the summer plough benefits to farmers. Suggested to uptake green manure crops which improves soil fertility. In this programme 16 farmers participated.
